Preview at Pebble Beach for the prototype Giulietta Sprint Speciale 1957

After almost 60 years from its first and only appearance in public, the Alfa Romeo Giulietta "Sprint Speciale" prototype of Bertone will be back to be admire at the Concours d'Elegance of Pebble Beach. The debut at the concours starts after a in-depth work of restoration, that has brought back this extraordinary car with shapes that had been shown in the Salone di Torino in 1957.

The heir of the series of prototypes BAT, the S.S. of 1957 is the link between these dream cars, where it maintains proportions and forward-pointing solutions and the Sprint Speciale, that after a generale redesign and a simplification of the project was put in production in 1959.

The car was found in the United States, but through the years the front and the back were changed into the style of the production model, despite the number of the chassis (10120-00001) and the bodywork in aluminum, clear clues of the true identity of this prototype. A very elegant original design, now brought back to history, is one of the most successful of Franco Scaglione and the presentation at Pebble Beach is also meant to be a tribute to the centenary of the birth of this very important designer, born in 1916.
