From August 27 to 30, 2026, the fifteenth edition of Passione Engadina took place in St. Moritz, an event dedicated to historic Italian automobiles that brings together some of the most important and rarest cars in the history of Italian motoring each year. This year’s edition, The Italian Job, featured automobiles from both major and lesser-known Italian manufacturers, taking part in a route through the spectacular roads of the Engadin.
Among the participating cars was the 1961 OSCA 1600 GT Touring from the Lopresto Collection.
The 1600 GT is a particularly significant model in the history of OSCA, the marque founded by the Maserati brothers. Presented at the 1961 Turin Motor Show, it was the only road-going car produced by the company before it subsequently turned its focus to competition cars.
The Lopresto Collection’s car is fitted with elegant bodywork crafted by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan using the Superleggera construction method. Among its most distinctive features are the concave rear window and the ingenious system for accessing the spare wheel, which is housed behind the seats.
The car’s participation in Passione Engadina was particularly significant for another reason: in 2026, Carrozzeria Touring celebrates its centenary, marking one hundred years of history that began in 1926 and has been closely associated with some of the most important Italian automobiles ever created.
In this centenary year, the Lopresto Collection’s OSCA 1600 GT tackled the evocative and challenging hairpin bends of the Engadin.
